Carrie Stone is the President of cSTONE & ASSOCIATES Executive Search a global executive search firm performing senior executive assignments. cSTONE & ASSOCIATES also provides advisory services to boards and CEO's on succession, compensation and organizational development. Recognized for superior business judgment, analytical thinking and insight, she is a sought after and trusted advisor. Her prior executive experience with large public companies, private equity backed companies and other global businesses, provides broad business knowledge to her clients. Her background includes CEO leadership, senior executive management, and Board and Committee expertise.
She leads the firm's client engagements beyond individual placements, assisting with the overall strategic development and organizational assessment of a company. Her in-depth knowledge of executive recruitment, performance based compensation, and succession planning are hallmarks of her business and she is acknowledged for delivering a personalized consulting approach.
Carrie has served on the Boards of Directors and as an Observer and appreciates the distinction between Board oversight and management. She has been an active member of the International and Pacific Region Boards of Directors of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) and World Presidents' Organization (WPO) serving as Chair of the International Forum Committee and in leadership roles for eight Global Leadership Conferences held around the world. She was a member of the Compensation and Diversity Committees of the YPO Board. In addition, Carrie's ongoing board education includes the Stanford University Law School, Director's College Corporate Governance program, the Harvard Business School, Executive Education Compensation Committee program, and YPO Women on Boards. In recognition of her expertise in compensation, Ms. Stone was named to the Agenda Compensation 100, identifying the 100 top candidates in the country to serve on compensation committees, Agenda is published by the Financial Times.
Earlier, Carrie established cStone, Inc., a consulting services firm advising investors, venture capitalists, and companies on business strategy, growth, and M&A opportunities.
Carrie co-founded and served on the Board of Directors of San Diego Social Venture Partners (SDSVP) a philanthropic organization utilizing a venture capital approach to investing in not-for-profit organizations and measuring the impact on social and community outcomes. SDSVP has invested $25+M in cash and in-kind services to over 100 non-profit organizations since its inception. In 2011, SDSVP was awarded Philanthropic Organization of the year in San Diego.
Previously, Carrie served as a Venture Partner and CEO in Residence with Enterprise Partners Venture Capital in La Jolla, a $1.1B venture fund investing in emerging stage technology and life science companies. Carrie developed much of her business leadership approach with premier consumer product, retail, multi- channel and apparel companies including The Walt Disney Company, J Crew and Talbots.
