cSTONE & ASSOCIATES has a clearly defined set of values which governs our interactions with everyone we come in contact with. Being a responsible business is not just about our daily interaction with clients and candidates, it is about the greater impact we have in the communities we live and work in addition to the issues we care deeply about in the world.
We are proud founders, supporters and partners with the following organizations:
cSTONE & ASSOCIATES President, Carrie Stone, envisioned an opportunity for a highly engaged philanthropic model using a venture philanthropy approach. She had a passion for cultivating engaged philanthropists with a focus on accountable investing in sustainable and impactful NFP organizations. In 2001, Carrie Co-Founded San Diego Social Venture Partners, an organization of individuals who invest their time and money in nonprofit organizations to accelerate and scale their impact to significantly improve more lives. Today, SDSVP is among the most impactful NFP organizations in the region catalyzing "investors" and partners pooling resources and talent to advance change in the community. Since inception SDSVP has donated 93,000 strategic volunteer hours and over $11 million in funding and in-kind services to over 100 NFP organizations in the region. SDSVP was named NFP organization of the year in 2011.
Every year Carrie proudly presents the BS (Bingham-Stone) Award in honor of the partner who has made the most significant impact to the organization. Carrie serves as a judge for Advance San Diego, modeled on “fast pitch” venture capital funding competitions, Advance San Diego helps organizations define their impact, powerfully communicate their vision, and raise more funds as a result.
Carrie began to engage her son in volunteer activities at age seven. Through their journey of volunteering together, Carrie met Free the Children Co-Founder, Craig Kielburger and was inspired by his passion and courage to create a movement at the age of 12 to free children from poverty. Today, Free the Children has engaged more than 1.7 million youth in innovative education and development programs in 45 countries. Craig is an activist, humanitarian and social entrepreneur who has built the largest organization of kids helping kids in the world. With a passion for raising children who care and contribute, Carrie created and Championed "African Adventures:Foundations for the Future", a volunteer experience for Young Presidents Organization (YPO) families to fully immerse themselves in the Masai Mara culture in Kenya building a school while working and learning in the community. With Free the Children, Carrie developed youth and adult programming centered on personal goals and action plans to make a difference. The program is now an annual program.
For parents interested in raising socially responsible children, The World Needs Your Kid, by Craig and Marc Kielburger, is an inspirational and practical guidebook.
Just in Time for Foster Youth engages a caring community to help transitioning foster youth achieve self-sufficiency and well-being. Without family support, young adults are at risk of being homeless, unemployed and under-educated. Only too often they plunge onto a path of lifelong dependence or prison. cSTONE & ASSOCIATES engages in assisting Foster Youth transition to an apartment by providing the essentials for a first home/apartment setup: a bed, furniture, kitchen utensils, linens, cleaning materials, small appliances, lighting and accessories.
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is the most successful orphan-elephant and rhino rescue and rehabilitation program in the world and one of the pioneering conservation organizations for wildlife and habitat protection in East Africa. We care deeply about preserving the beautiful creatures God put on this earth.
We love the baby elephant foster parent program and tracking the progress of our adopted orphan elephants.
